We’re on a mission as a church to make the most of 2010 and we’re praying for God to do some big things in and through us.  None of this is possible without the empowerment of the Holy Spirit.  Brannen talked about 5 things we need to avoid that quench the Spirit and prevents us from being moved by Him…

1. Being okay with sin in your life
2. Pursuing mediocre Christianity
3. Allowing the noise of this world to drown out His voice
4. Not allowing yourself to be led by the Spirit
5. Not using your gifts inside or outside the body

I’m sure all of us tend to fall into one of these traps and when we do, we are limiting the Spirit’s power in our lives.  We need to do our best to avoid these things, hold each other accountable, and continue to pray hard during 2010.  I’m excited to see what God has in store.
